All pages, images and videos are available without signing in. Statistics are used only to understand use of this portfolio, not for advertising or profiles of individual recruitment contacts.

Website delivery

This website is hosted by GitHub Pages. The hosting provider processes technical connection information, including IP addresses, for delivery and security. The basis is the legitimate interest in providing a secure portfolio (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GitHub's privacy statement.

Basic page counts

GoatCounter counts fixed page names, request times and resulting totals. The website does not set analytics cookies or assign a visitor or session identifier. It does not measure time on page, scrolling, card openings, video controls, returns or individual visit histories. Inputs, complete URLs with query parameters, screen dimensions and the previously visited address are not transmitted.

Purpose and objection

The statistics are used only to estimate the reach of this personal portfolio, not for advertising, selling data or personal profiles. This limited processing is based on a legitimate interest in that feedback (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may disable page counts below. DNT and GPC privacy signals are respected. All content remains available.

Technical connection data

Requests to sgillmeier.goatcounter.com technically include an IP address and HTTP browser information. GoatCounter states that raw IP addresses and full browser identifiers are not stored in its statistics database. Depending on account settings, browser families, operating systems and approximate countries may be processed as separate aggregates. These are not joined into a visitor profile. Repeated requests are not a count of different people.

Provider and retention

GoatCounter.com is operated by Martin Tournoij in Ireland and lists Hetzner servers in Finland and Germany. Aggregates remain in the private statistics account until its configured retention period or deletion. After account deletion, backups may remain for up to 30 days according to the provider. Details: https://www.goatcounter.com/help/privacy. My local Mac report only reads these aggregates.

Your saved preference

Only an explicit change to your statistics preference is stored in your browser, for at most 180 days. This functional preference contains no visitor identifier and is not sent to GoatCounter. Earlier opt-outs are respected; earlier consent to detailed statistics no longer activates detailed tracking. An explicitly chosen language may still be stored for the session. If storage is blocked, the preference applies only to the open document.

Your rights

Where personal data are concerned, statutory rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and complaint to a supervisory authority. Contact: gillmeier@me.com. Without a mapping, aggregate counts cannot retrospectively identify which request belonged to a particular person.
